Women's Sailing Program

“Yes, we put Women at the Helm too!”

re you an avid sailor?  Just getting into sailing?  Is your significant other the “real” sailor and you’re petrified that they’ll fall off the boat and leave you in charge?  Has your daughter been aboard with us and you’re just itching to get on-board too?  Are you in need of some time away just for yourself?

Come sail a Tall Ship with us!

Following the spirit of Sisters Under Sail, our women’s sailing program is a shared-learning experience just for women. Tallship Unicorn's all-female professional crew establish a fun and stimulating learning environment. Work side-by-side with other like-minded women and learn…

  • paper navigation – we of course have all the electronic bells and whistles
  • tall ship sail theory – Unicorn has over 7000 square feet of canvas
  • climb the rigging – you know you’ve been dying to try this
  • take the helm – an awesome feeling

“The tall ship experience helped to remind me that adventures are what make life. Ships are meant to be sailed, not left in the harbor. Life is meant to be lived.”

Mona Diegel
Waterford, Michigan

The program:

You board us on Sunday evening.  Enjoy a glass of wine on the aft deck and get to know your shipmates and crew.  Captain Rachel will layout your voyage schedule, give you the rules of the road, and provide you with watch assignments.  After a good nights sleep, we’ll push off the next morning for your adventure of a lifetime!

Our professional crew are experts in navigation and tall ship sail theory.  The added plus, they love to teach and are passionate about sailing.  You’ll be learning from the best!

Putting over 100 women at the helm since 2005.
A liberating and powerful experience!
